TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT AS A CORE COMPONENT OF A CLIENT-CENTRIC PROSTHETIC ORTHOTIC PRACTICE MODEL

Technological innovation has transformed how we communicate, work, and conduct business. Over the next decade experience health care both as professionals client-patients will also change significantly. This presents an opportunity a challenge to medical clinical that are device-focused, including prosthetists orthotists, they consider best adapt. Current prosthetic orthotic education practice is heavily clinically weighted, with less emphasis being given engineering business skills. Yet all three essential core elements of successful, sustainable prosthetics orthotics practice. Furthermore, it latter two influence future face & orthotics. It not certain current practitioners can adapt in response. One solution, proposed this editorial, could be by rebalancing their professional persona equally weight elements. The result, Clinical Prosthetic Orthotic Technology Management Professional, would engage functionally grounded, uses client-centric model incorporate eight attributes: professional, advocate, scholar, leader, communicator, collaborator, assistive technology expert justification specialist.
